Job Description

Bricklayers and masons are responsible for building and repairing walls, partitions, arches, and other structures made of brick, stone, or similar materials. They must be able to read and interpret blueprints, follow safety guidelines, and work efficiently to complete projects on time.


A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required, along with vocational training or an apprenticeship in bricklaying or masonry. Candidates should have good physical strength, dexterity, and hand-eye coordination, as well as the ability to work in all weather conditions.


Bricklayers and masons should have a strong understanding of construction principles and techniques, as well as the ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively. They should be able to work independently or as part of a team, communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors, and troubleshoot problems as they arise.


The salary for bricklayers and masons in the UK ranges from £20,000 to £35,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
